Air China- National Airlines of China



Air China- National Airlines of China is the state owned airlines of the People's Republic of China and is also the second-largest commercial airline operating in China after the China Southern Airlines. Air China- National Airlines of China is the flag carrier, as it is the only airline to have secured the permission to fly with the national flag of the People's Republic of China printed on all its carriers. Its official symbol is that of a phoenix and the inscription of "Air China" has been personally autographed by Deng Xiaoping.

The Beijing Capital International Airport and the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport are the major centers of Air China. While the Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, the Tianjin Binhai International Airport as well as the Hohhot Baita International Airport are also important hubs of Air China.



    Air China flew a total of 33.97 million passengers as of 2006. Air China has two sister wings helping in its operation:
    • Air China Cargo, which handles the logistics
    • Air China Business Jet, which handles the major business of the airline
