China is a region of culture and is one of the ancient civilizations of the world. It is one of the most prosperous nations of East Asia. China consists of states and cultures, which date back to hundreds of years. The aftermath of the last Civil War in the nation has given birth to two political bodies with the name of China: the People's Republic of China (PRC) or China, that is in complete control of the mainland of China, Hong Kong, and Macau and the Republic of China (ROC) or Taiwan, that is in control of Taiwan and its neighboring islands.

China boasts of the longest most used written language script and has been the proud home of some of the greatest inventions of the world, like paper, compass, gunpowder and printing. There are eight main cities in China: Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Taipei, Hong Kong, Changsha and Tianjin.
